Dave Middleton

Managing Director

Dave was appointed as Managing Director in 2010. In his role as MD, Dave has overall responsibility for the day to day management of the business and quality standards.

Previous to this he had played a key role as Client Relationship Director at Portus in structuring an effective Client Relationship team and ensuring high quality service delivery to our clients.

Dave has a wide range of experience in providing employee benefit consultancy services to clients in the legal, finance and manufacturing sectors and specialises in providing advice with regards to complex risk and healthcare plans. Dave has particular expertise in dealing with the wind-up of occupational money purchase pension plans and the setting up of group personal pension plans and stakeholder pension plans.

Dave has been instrumental in producing the Portus Occupational Health Programme and promoting a wellness and integrated benefit strategy for our clients. He won ‘Best Occupational Health Intermediary’ at the 2009 Health Insurance Awards. He regularly contributes to industry journals and has been an expert panellist at the Employee Benefits seminar: Persuading the boardroom to recognise the value of health and wellbeing.

Before joining Portus in 2004 Dave was Area Sales Manager for Norwich Union Healthcare and prior to this worked for Swiss Life(UK) plc. Dave has been in the insurance industry for over 15 years.

Dave lives near Lichfield, is married and has a son and a daughter. He is a keen cricketer and follower of Aston Villa.
