David joined Portus as Director of Consulting in April 2012. He has considerable experience of understanding the needs of clients and providing effective solutions across the areas of health, risk and wellbeing, including international benefits and multinational pooling.

Much of this experience was gained in the role of Head of Consulting at Lorica Employee Benefits, where he managed the sales team. He exceeded targets for new business and retention, and helped corporate clients cross over to a flexible benefits platform.

He also enabled clients to use occupational health and absence management to increase both efficiency and wellbeing. David brings his detailed understanding of this area to his role at Portus. He is a regular contributor to major publications in the field.

Working with a team of Client Relationship Managers, David’s primary focus at Portus is to build on the firm’s outstanding reputation for service and advice. He will ensure we support our clients in embracing change, by continuing to provide them with market-leading levels of service, innovation and cost-effective solutions – in both fixed and flexible benefit environments.

David has more than 25 years’ experience in the employee benefits field. He began his career in a clerical role at Guardian Royal Exchange and worked his way up to become an Employee Benefits Consultant, before moving to Aegon Scottish Equitable in a more senior capacity.

David is married and lives just outside Winchester. He takes part in adventure triathlons.
